In a world filled with desperation for more fulfilment; there's also a great deal of waiting and confusion as to how to build more meaningful relationships. Whether in business, self-development or lifestyle, a certain degree of 'awakening' is required to pull off the veils that prevent many from not only reaching their potential but getting started.
Here are ten tips inspired by mentor Brendon Burchard on creating your own comeback story.
1. STOP WAITING FOR MOTIVATION
Don't wait until some perfect day to start behaving better, following better habits, living your truth, chasing your dreams.
2. BURN THE VICTIM CARD
This doesn't mean you didn't go through some bad stuff. It means your identity - your sense of self - shouldn't be stuck there. Adopt the role model mindset now, because the kids are watching, people are noticing, and you can inspire others by lifting yourself out of your past.
3. SET YOUR STANDARDS
Step one: forgive yourself and others. Step two: set new standards so you don't repeat mistakes over and over.
4. BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF
If the people all around you don't know your real thoughts, feelings, joys, desires, struggles, needs, and ambitions, then that's on you.
5. CREATE CONSCIOUS RELATIONSHIPS
When you're lying in bed in the last moments of your life, your cell phone won't be standing up by your bedside to comfort you. People will.
6. LOCK-IN YOUR TIME
Randomness is stealing your potential. You gotta lock in a strong schedule of creativity, progress and self-care for yourself.
7. PRIORITIZE WELLNESS
You know this, but common sense isn't always common practice. Everyone "waits" to get their wellness practices together, and they suffer years needlessly because of that inaction. How can you have a comeback story if you don't take better care of yourself this go-round?
8. DIVE DEEP INTO PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
Challenge yourself. Even if it means reading a personal development book for 30 minutes EVERY DAY. A real book - no digital allowed, no audiobook. Sit down, with a real book about personal growth, and read. 30 minutes per day. 30 day challenge. Go!
9. BE DECISIVE and CONFIDENT
The blank pages of the future are there. Waiting. Decide what the story is going to be. Charge confidently forward each day, because confidence is just your belief in your ability to figure things out. You can figure anything out with enough commitment, learning, and time. So.... go!
10. SHARE YOUR JOURNEY
If people don't know your journey, they can't help. If you don't share, you don't remember and learn and process. So get yourself in a good community of caring and positive and extraordinary humans.
